Double Gallery, Holga and iPhone

Saturday, May 21st, 2011

Here’s a short post for all of you, the latest shots from the totally opposite image capturing devices: the Holga and the iPhone. Both are my favourite compact cameras, yes I think the iPhone camera is still the best out there, gotta love that focusing. Anyway, as usual the Holga produces such unpredictable shots with it’s amazing signature colours. I have taken liberty on this one to convert some of the Holga shots into black and white and I think it suits the images a lot.

So put your mind at ease while the Holga shots take you back in time with its retro looking shots then back to the present with the clarity of digital compact.

Without any further ado, sit back, relax and enjoy the sceneries from the two galleries.

Bit of photography with iPhone

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

In my opinion, our photography shouldn’t be limited only to our digital cameras and SLRs. Lately with so much apps available for iPhone, there has been quite a lot of quality software which we can use to take interesting photos as well as editting it on the spot using the iPhone. I’d like to share a few of my favourite apps that I use frequently on my iPhone. Obviously for serious photography stuff the SLR is still my choice, but there’s nothing wrong with taking fun pics; which most of the times turned out to be interesting :)

1. The default camera app, love the touch focus

2. PhotoForge, this is a very powerful image editting software. Feels like having desktop photoshop on my iPhone

3. Pano, great photostitching software!

4. Photoshop mobile, this is much less powerfull than PhotoForge but is handy for quick editting and adding borders.

5. Last but not least, Hipstamatic, amazing software that gives all of the photos taken that retro touch! You’ll be amazed how creative you can be with this

The trick is as always, to not only use one app at all times. Instead, try different combinations. Shoot with one app and edit with other apps. You’ll get interesting results.
